Nuclear Successor States of the Soviet Union: Status Report on Nuclear Weapons, Fissile Material and Export Controls

The report was written jointly by the Center for Nonproliferation Studies at the Monterey Institute of International Studies and by the Non-Proliferation Project at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. In the report is a wealth of information on the current status of nuclear weapons, weapons-usable nuclear material, export controls, and nonproliferation and disarmament assistance programs in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine. A printed version of this report was published in March 1998.
